About Us

KINGSBURY OIL TERMINAL

Kingsbury Oil Terminal is an oil storage depot located to the northeast of the village of Kingsbury, Warwickshire, England. It was opened in the late 1960s and serves the Midlands region. It is the largest inland oil storage depot in the United Kingdom. The main operators at the site are Essar, Warwickshire Oil Storage Limited and Valero Energy Corporation. The site also has facilities from Shell and pipeline operations from the British Pipeline Agency. In August 2006 the terminal was targeted by terrorists as part of a terror plot involving several sites across the country.

An oil terminal (also called a tank farm, tankfarm, oil installation or oil depot) is an industrial facility for the storage of oil, petroleum and petrochemical products, and from which these products are transported to end users or other storage facilities. An oil terminal typically has a variety of above or below ground tankage; facilities for inter-tank transfer; pumping facilities; loading gantries for filling road tankers or barges; ship loading/unloading equipment at marine terminals; and pipeline connections.

We specialize in loading, unloading, storing, and transshipment of crude oil, natural gas, and various petroleum products, including motor gasoline, aviation fuel, and gas oil. In addition to the United Kingdom, we also offer transshipment, storage, and bunkering services to and from the European Union, Rotterdam terminal, Russia, Jurong terminal, Houston terminal (TX), the Caribbean, and Asia. More recently, in response to client demand, we have expanded our service portfolio to include maritime freight services worldwide through our partners.

OUR POSSIBILITIES FOR STORING PETROLEUM CHEMICAL PRODUCTS

BIOFUELS

In an effort to support the energy conversion process, Kingsbury Oil Terminal is aggressively seeking additional bioproducts and streams. We have changed fossil fuel tanks to accept new biofuels and intend to keep doing so. We presently store HVO and FAME.

MARINE FUEL

Prior to the International Maritime Organization's global restriction for the sulfur content of ships' fuel and gasoil, Kingsbury Oil Terminal provides low-sulfur fuel bunkering. At some points, our terminal infrastructure is linked to neighboring refineries, providing the option to mix or transfer low-sulfur marine fuels straight into facilities.

RECYCLED MATERIALS

King'sbury Oil Terminal is looking for opportunities to provide services for recyclable materials as part of the shift to fossil fuel-free flows. Our terminal's logistics services for calcium chloride derived from fly ash are one instance of this.

TANK STORAGE FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS

LNG is kept at atmospheric pressure, roughly minus 160°C, in massive, specially-designed complete containment tanks.

Vegetable oils and biofuels: Bio-ethanol needs similar particular tank storage conditions to chemicals and is frequently stored in tanks of the same size. Vegetable oils and biodiesel are frequently kept in identical-sized tanks under less restrictive storage conditions than chemicals.

The majority of storage spaces for fuel oil, gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and crude oil are enormous tanks.

Most often, smaller tanks are used to store chemical products (such styrene, methanol, xylene, and MEG). A regulated environment or temperature are common requirements for the storage of chemical compounds. As a highly flammable commodity, LPG is kept in bullets under high pressure or in chilled tanks at a temperature of roughly minus 40°C.
