TANK STORAGE FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS

LNG is kept at atmospheric pressure, roughly minus 160°C, in massive, specially-designed complete containment tanks.

Vegetable oils and biofuels: Bio-ethanol needs similar particular tank storage conditions to chemicals and is frequently stored in tanks of the same size. Vegetable oils and biodiesel are frequently kept in identical-sized tanks under less restrictive storage conditions than chemicals.

The majority of storage spaces for fuel oil, gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and crude oil are enormous tanks.

Most often, smaller tanks are used to store chemical products (such styrene, methanol, xylene, and MEG). A regulated environment or temperature are common requirements for the storage of chemical compounds. As a highly flammable commodity, LPG is kept in bullets under high pressure or in chilled tanks at a temperature of roughly minus 40°C.
